Nour El-Sherif (Arabic: نور الشريف‎; 28 April 1946 – 11 August 2015) was a contemporary Egyptian actor. His birth name is Mohamad Geber Mohamad ِAbd Allah (Arabic: محمد جابر محمد عبد الله).
El-Sherif was born in the working-class neighbourhood of Sayeda Zainab in Cairo (Arabic: السيدة زينب‎). El-Sherif was married to Poussi (1972–2006) and together they had two daughters, Sarah and Mai. He also played soccer before choosing acting as a career. Nour El-Sherif is sometimes credited as Nour El Cherif, Nour El-Cherif or Nour Al-Sharif.
Conspiracy theories:
In an interview which aired on Egypt's CBC TV on October 6, 2011 (as translated by MEMRI), El-Sharif claimed that "when it comes to the Holocaust, there is no freedom of speech." He also stated that "When a Frenchman wrote a Ph.D. dissertation, in which he proved that the [gas] chambers were a Jewish... an Israeli lie, they revoked his doctorate. That's another thing – the Israeli lobby has infiltrated France so deeply that the Sorbonne revoked a doctoral degree that it had awarded a researcher."
In an interview which aired on Egypt's CBC TV on September 7, 2014 (as translated by MEMRI), Al-Sharif claimed that the attacks of September 11, 2001 were the "result of an internal American conflict" between the "U.S. presidency and the CIA."
Death:
El-Sherif died of a heart attack in Cairo at the age of 69.
