Biography & Footprints

Samir Kazan, a grandfather, a father, a brother, a husband, a friend. There are no words that can sum up his life, the things he has seen and experienced, his generosity, wisdom, life philosophy and love of life. Samir, a jeweler by day, was the owner of the Bijouterie Kazan before the Civil War in lebanon and retired when he moved his family to france, for his kids, Samer and Wissam to be safe. He lived in France for 10 years, dedicating his life to his family. He travelled the world, alone and again with his family, from east to west. He loves hunting, watersports, traveling, a good laugh, good company and enjoys every minute of life. He is the strongest and most honest person I know.

After France, given his love for Lebanon, he brought his family back home, where he stayed until his sons went to the States for work, and he again, moved his whole life for them. He ended up living in dream house in Woodway, Washington, with a big backyard where his grandson could play.

  • Wissam Kazan Dad, you were the greatest, strongest, sweetest and most honest person I have ever known. You sacrificed everything for your family and moved your life here, to be closer to us. In your most difficult last couple of years, you continued to care about everyone else first. My heart is broken to see you leave us, hopefully for a better and more comfortable place. Dad, I love you with all my heart and you made me who I am, I would be nothing without you. I recall every single moment with you, and I will never forget all the things you have done. How you have traveled with me everywhere I went to help me settle in new places, across continents. May your rest in peace and may your soul be finally free, in Heaven, as you are the angel that heaven was missing. May you rest in piece, you will always be missed and never forgotten. You strength, character and all of you will live through us, the way you would have wished us to be. Your stories will never be forgotten and I promise you that I will keep sharing them with Walloumi and the rest of the generation. I am grateful that you were able to see William and play with him and I will always remember the smile and look you had on your face and the smile that Walloum had when he was with you. You taught us the importance of family and that no matter what, we should always be here for each other. You taught us to be man of our word, that honesty is always best. You taught us to be patient, to love unconditionally and to forgive. You taught us that while every one is not the same, every one is special. You taught us no matter what life throws at you, there is always a way. You taught us to love life, and how to appreciate every single minute of it. You taught us to be generous to other, while keeping their self-esteem and dignity. I promise you dad that I will become the man you wanted me to be. I will cherish your memories, life lessons and continue seeking your advice for the rest of my life, as I know that you are forever with me. I am lucky and proud to be your son, Samir Kazan's Son. I hope that I can be half the man that you showed us to be. You are my hero. Love you dad, forever and for always.
